DREU

The DREU (Distributed Research Experience for Undergrads) Program is sponsored by Texas A&M University, the Computing Research Association for Women, and the Coalition to Diversify Computing. More information can be found here.

Projects

The project I am currently working on is a redesign of the Virtual Town Square website interface due to some problems that emerged during usage of the webpage. The current site can be found here. The goal for the project is to create a more simplistic page for the user as well as have more information for the user to pick from, including make the webpage more social and interactive. Currently there seems to be a lot of information from Virginia Tech rather than the outside community, which is the main focus of the page, and very little input from the actual users.

My Mentor

My mentor is Dr. Manuel Pérez-Quiñones who is an Associate Professor and the Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. His area of research is Human Computer Interaction. More information about Dr. Perez-Quinones can be found on his website, here.
