My Dreu Experience

Week 7: Jul 12 - Jul 16

For the weekend, I visited Charlotte with 2 of the other DREU students here. I was very exciting; a highlight of the weekend was a visit the Childress vineyard and winery.
This week was spent preparing for the Prime III studies. The IRB was finally approved and we started by testing the code in preparation for the study. So minor changes were made to Prime III to facilitate some study and while testing we realized that there were a few bugs in the system. However, these were corrected and our studies will start on Monday.
Also, this week my main project was switched to iTech which is an interactive user manual. Little progress has been made with voiceText and we are unable to conduct studies as planned for the summer. So, since I've also been working with the iTech, my poster and final research paper will be based on iTech. I've already began designing my poster and I think it will be great.
On Thursday Dr Jim Martin made a presentation as a part of the weekly seminar serious. He spoke about his research in networking and the problem of resource allocation. He made a very interesting comparison between dividing a 3 Musketeers bar and allocating resources within a network.
