My Dreu Experience

Week 2: Jun 7 - Jun 11

After an exciting weekend which included a look into the night life at Anderson, SC and meeting the addition REU students, I was eager for the new week to start. My second week at Clemson University commenced with a series of meetings to establish the direction of the projects. For Avatar Shopping, we looked at some previous studies that were done on the project and decided that there are certain improvements to be made before doing further studies. These include making some structural and graphic changes to our test e-commerce website. So this week I mainly navigated through the website and noted and corrected minor structural changes.
For voiceText, we made decisions about exactly how we'll conduct the studies and now we are just waiting for the car simulator to be functional and we'll be ready to start. The Prime III project is also on its way and we decided exactly how we'll be conducting the study and are in the process or drafting the IRB forms and preparing their requirements.
I haven't had prior experience with HTML and Javascript so I've been doing several tutorials that will aid me in editing the test website for Avatar Shopping.
As a part of a Summer Seminar Series organised by the School of Computing here at Clemson, I attending a seminar lead my Dr. Don House who is the chair of Visual Computing. He gave an informative presentation about a method for the real-time simulation of fluid surface waves and their interactions with floating objects that he and students have been working on. And so it continued....
