Week 1:

This week I came back to A&M to begin the DREU program.

In paperwork news, funding issues this summer mean that I'm on the payroll at A&M, which means I have to fill out a billion pages of paperwork and take ethics training and all this stuff. I've seen my friends who work for the SCC and such go through it already so I'm not looking forward to it. But that's not all! I also began my research this week.

My first goal is to decide what kind of simulation software I'm going to use. I picked SARGE, which is a simulation developed by a guy who was Dr. Murphy's grad student back at USF, Dr. Jeff Craighead. It is made with Unity3D and is platform-independent.

We have to make a chart of our milestones for the summer called a work compass. It's basically just an Excel sheet of goals to get through in order to complete our project on time. I think I'll post that as well once it gets done.

That's it for the first week!
