St. Louis is a fun city with many things to do Washington University has a great location in the city. Just across from campus is the St. Louis Zoo and Missouri Botanical Gardens. Also, walking distance from the school, you can find a lot of cafes and places to eat.

Another major attraction is the St.  Louis Arch . This monument is very impressive, at the base there is a museum and you can take a ride to the top of the structure. At the very top, about 630 feet above ground, there is a viewing area.  I had the opportunity to take the tour to the very top. This tour is a real treat. People are transported in sealed pod containers with a five person capacity. Each pod is pulled to the top by a pulley mechanism.  The viewing area is amazing; you have a 360 degrees view of St. Louis city.

At the St. Louis University we stay in apartment style housing for research students called Village East. This complex has a pool and volleyball courts close by. During the summer the apartment complex has get togethers like Barbecues and other fun activities.

My working team has four students. We work in close proximity to each other in the same office. This is really helpful, because we can provide each other immediate assistance whenever we need it.
