Welcome to my 2010 DREU project site.

I am Vivian Brown, a rising senior at Pomona College. This summer (2010) I participated in an internship at Oregon State University in Corvallis, through the CRA-W program for Distributed Research Experience for Undergraduates (DREU). Our research involved applying machine techniques to analyze birdsong recordings from the H. J. Andrews Research Forest. The goal of the project is to identify bird species in order to track the activity of various populations across the forest. Here you can find information and updates about my experience.
