Eat Well, Eat Often!

Now that I have had a little while to get to know the Seattle area, I am very excited to write about food. One of the most incredible things about Seattle is the food. There are many, many farmer's markets and small stores where local produce is easily accessible. My apartment in the U district is a block away from a weekly farmer's market, so I get my fill of fresh fruits and vegies there every week to supplement other grocery shopping. Because it is summer, there seems to be a food festival every single week, for some food, in some nearby location. Also, Pike Place Market never disappoints. Tasty!

Of course, we cannot forget the coffee. I've visited the Original Starbucks a couple of times, and it is pretty cool to see the logo in its original form, but I am more about finding independent coffee and tea shops, so I spent more time exploring than hanging out in Starbucks. I cannot stress how easy it is to get around Seattle - any type of food you want you can probably find, you can find here very easily.

Chicago (where I go to school) does have some good seafood, but living in Seattle is a whole new situation in terms of seafood. It is both excellent and widely available, and I love fish. A simple google search for Seattle food blogs will probably give you more detail than I can, but it really is a terrific city for food.
