Rachel Brinkman is a senior in the Computer Science Department at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2010 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She is interested in game design, and particularly in designing games for learning. When she is not studying, Rachel enjoys playing cello in various orchestras, reading (mostly classic science fiction - Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, etc.), swing dancing, fencing, and gaming with friends. She is also an active member of the ACM (Grove City College chapter), where she serves as treasurer.

In the summer of 2009, Rachel was very priviledged to receive a research grant from the Computing Research Association's Distributed Research for Undergraduates program. Through the program, she was given the opportunity to work as a member of the Game2Learn team at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte under the mentorship of Dr. Tiffany Barnes. Rachel's current research projects include the Dance Tool, which teaches basic programming flow to beginning programmers, and a prototype for the iPhone platform that would increase attendee participation in a conference setting.
