Week 0:
I arrived on Thursday, May 24. Got to my apartment, which I found on craigslist, met with my house mates and sort of settled in. The next day I stopped by the Graphics Lab, where I met Sophie. She is from Germany, getting her PhD in the Netherlands. Just like me she is at CMU for the summer. She showed me around the campus a little bit, gave me the key to the Graphics lab and a form that I needed to fill out to get a computer account. I tried getting my student ID but since my information wasn't in the university database yet, they couldn't issue me one.I spent the weekend and Memorial Day (Monday) cruising around Pittsburgh, exploring the neighborhood and trying to get rid of jet lag.
