So I lied about non-Tuesday updates.

The web interface for UP now has a very simple grid view. James, one of the other undergrads on the UP project, is working on getting slide tagging up and running, so I think the next step is integrating the two, and making it possible to view tags from the grid view. I understand PHP a little better now, which is cool. I'm definitely planning to turn this website into PHP. At some point, maybe this weekend.

Not much else going on; it was kind of a short week. I'm meeting with James later to try to understand the tagging. We're potentially also going to adapt that script to do comments on slides as well. These would be private, in contrast with the public tagging. I'm really interested in seeing if students use these new features, and if they're actually useful.

Comic-Con was pretty cool. I missed the big panel that I wanted to attend, the one on Heroes, because they closed the room about an hour before the panel started. I was Not Amused. I did see Joss Whedon, though, which was neat, and then went to dinner with the people I went to the Con with and another Mudder who graduated last year and is working in San Diego. Right now, Liz is borrowing Karaoke Revolution, Dance Dance Revolution, and the associated peripherals from someone she's working with, so we were up kinda late last night playing rhythm games. I feel no shame.
