Apparently I've formed the habit of writing my weekly post on the Tuesday following the week about which I'm posting. Note to self: fix.
Last week I posted on a Microsoft forum about my C# bug. I got a little bit of a response, but everything that was suggested failed to fix the bug. Beth has a contact at Microsoft who I'll probably email this week. The forum thing did have a few positive effects. Now that I know what people ask about with the information that I initially gave, I can be much more specific about the problem, and I have a larger list of things I've tried to fix it.
The web minimization almost works, but again -- snag. Blogger ink can be sent minimized or unminimized depending on the instructor ink, but the instructor ink won't minimize if the blogger ink is minimized and being viewed, leading to the ink and background not matching up. This may be an insoluble problem. Beth and I discussed some options for workarounds, but I didn't want to do anything before talking with the rest of the team. Also any blogger ink in the margin created by minimization doesn't get sent to web, and I'm having a beastly time figuring out why. I can't exactly send print statements for pngs.
I made a couple of quick mockups for my grid view, which made it fairly obvious that the thumbnails are going to be too small to be able to view content. This could make life Difficult. We'll probably end up doing something with scaling the full-sized slide, which has the added benefit of making it possible for the user to control how many slides they're viewing at once.
This weekend involved standing in a very long line for Harry Potter, then going to LA to see Wicked with my boyfriend and proceeding to spend the rest of the weekend in Claremont. Tonight, Beth is having a barbeque on the beach with a bunch of people from the CS department. Next weekend: Comic-Con.
