WEEK 1

May 15 - May 19

On the day of May 15, I drove down to University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I found a beautiful campus located in southern part of North Carolina. After I checked into my room, I went and met Dr. Tiffany Barnes. She was very kind and friendly. We talked about our goal for the summer. She also gave me two books that Dr. Richter left for me and they were "The Design of Everyday Things" by Donald A. Norman and "Interaction Design", beyond human-computer interaction by Preece, Sharp, and Rogers. On Tuesday, Dr. Barnes and her summer students including - Amanda, Evie, and Alex. She introduced us and took us out to an Italian restaurant. We had a great time eating lunch and discussing our project for the summer.
On Wednesday, I had another meeting with Dr. Barnes, and she gave me two gaming websites to try out and also asked me to make a couple of games by using the site http://www.gamemaker.nl and http://www.rpgmaker.com. On Thursday, we met once more and she reviewed the games that I created. Remainder of the week, I tried to finish up on my readings.
