This week I’ve continued to
work on the mask scene for Professor Duesing.
After practicing with basic forms and simple key framed scenes I was
finally successful in moving on to working with more complex forms. I took one of the final models that was made
by Bum, and began applying the CLOTH constraints to the actual character. The process was slightly different due to the
fact that I was no longer starting from scratch. As a result, I had to tweak a few of the
parameters in order to achieve the same effects that I had with the more
simplistic studies. By the end of the
week I ended up having a piece of cloth, in the shape of the character Pseudo,
being ripped off by an invisible (at the moment) force to expose the underlying
character’s face. In addition to my
continual work in Maya, I also helped with a few captures in the lab this
week. Both were for one of the Master’s
students who works in the graphics lab. The first capture she needed for her research
was quite simple and only required a few jumps and runs. The second capture was slightly more
intricate and had me and another intern building “mazes” for Justin to walk
through. I believe her research may have
something to do with how a character reacts to different obstacles that are
presented before them; so as a result, Justin was walking around walls and
jumping across “water.” It was an
interesting capture and quite amusing to watch- which made Friday go by even faster.
