My last week at CMU was actually broken up by a few trips, including one to Boston for SIGGRAPH, a convention on computer graphics and interactive techniques.  I was primarily working on organizing and cleaning up the projects that I have done this summer.  At the beginning of the week I met with the art group for the final time.  I gave a brief rundown on all of the research I had done on the project and ensured that they would be able pickup from where I had left off.  The primary focus of the meeting was to show the other students that would be continuing to work on the project how I had been working with the motion capture data and applying it to the characters.  Alternative ways to approach the problem were also discussed and I gave my input on what I thought would work most effectively.  Sadly while I was away, I missed the large capture session that was run with the actors for the animation. I was told it was quite an interesting day however.  I also collected all the files I’ve accumulated over the summer in order to add them to my “database” of sorts that documents all the work I’ve done.  As part of my wrap-up process I worked on the final report for the Distributed Mentors Program, completed my website and wrote up a brief summary on my experience at the convention.
