week ten

august 15 - august 19

Monday, August 15:

Busy busy busy!  Today I updated my journals and website, then I typed all my notes from the Baystate meeting last week.  I tried to organize everything I had from Baystate, but I don't know if that will be possible, so I hope I can just clump it all together in text so somebody can grep it.  I made more LittleJIL changes to the Chemo process, and made a backup in case I strategically delete it before my presentation Thursday.  I had so much work to do between finishing up the diagrams and working on the final presentation that I had to come in tonight in the wee hours.  I brought my good friends Ben and Jerry along for some company.

Tuesday, August 16:

Today I had a meeting with Lori at 10, and we talked about the presentation I'll give on Thursday.  I really have a lot of work to do, but I'm sure I'll get it all done.  Lori made me feel a lot better about how I would present it: make it versatile enough so that when I post it on my DMP site, everyone can see all the LittleJIL diagrams if they want to, and skip over most of them in the actual LASER presentation to talk mostly about process elicitation and LittleJIL language issues.  Sounds good!  Now I gotta go do it.

Wednesday, August 17:

Today I had another meeting with Lori so I could show her the slides I came up with.  She liked them!  Awesome.  I have some more things to do with them, and I need to add speaking notes, but it looks I'll be in good shape for tomorrow.  The presentation is in the morning, and everybody's going out to lunch to celebrate my last day tomorrow.  Tomorrow!  Can't believe it.

Thursday, August 18:

Last day at UMass!

Last minute corrections, panic attacks, and sweaty palms out of the way!  My final presentation is today!

The presentation went great.  I felt comfortable with the work that I had done, and my style of presentation on PowerPoint went pretty well, even though I couldn't see my fabulous speaking notes.  Good thing I knew what I was talking about.  Some good discussions were brought up, and everybody seemed engaged in the topic.  A great success!  I felt like I did a pretty good job for the new girl.  Not so new anymore, I guess.

We went out to lunch after the presentation to Bertucci's.  Yum!  And then I went back to my haunted house in Amherst, only to pack up and leave Massachusetts.  Adios amigos!
