internship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
I applied to the CRA-W
DMP program in the spring of 2005 and started my internship in early
June. The internship called for 10 weeks of research at a mentoring
institution. Since my application indicated an interest in Artificial
Intelligence (A. I.), I was assigned to Dr. desJardins at the Multi-Agent
Planning and LEarning lab (MAPLE), located in the Information Technology
and Electrical Engineering building. The actual lab is combined
with the COgnition, Robotics And Learning (CORAL) lab, headed by
