PROJECT GOALS

There are multiple project goals in this research. The most immediate goal is the analysis of available methods of abstract trajectory comparison, with the purpose of synthesis of a novel method allowing deeper comparison of two or more trajectories, establishing their relationship and, most importantly, quantifying their differences and similarities. Such degree of analysis of abstract trajectories will allow in depth analysis of various algorithms available for protein folding.

There are a variety of multiple algorithms and simulators aimed at distinguishing the principles of protein folding. Unfortunately, with such an abundance of algorithms, there is no efficient quantitative method for comparing and estimating the success of these algorithms. Our new trajectory analysis technique would provide such a quantifiable success rating.
