Week 10

Day 48 – Monday, August 25, 2003

Today is the first day of my last week here at the University of Washington. I have a lot to finish up in combination with getting ready to go back home. At 11:00 this morning, I met with Ira Kalet, one of the founders of the Biomedical Informatics program here. I talked with him about the program overall, and also about what biology requirements I would need to fulfill should I decide to apply for this program. After lunch, I packed up a box of textbooks to send home and had to walk it over to the post office. I am now working on zipping up all of the code/data I have worked on, finishing up my documentation, and working on my final report.

Day 49 – Tuesday, August 26, 2003

Today was a fairly boring day because no one was in except for me. I tried to work on my document, and also this website. I was supposed to set up the program on Linda’s computer, but seeing as she was not in, I will have to wait until tomorrow to do so. Other than that I also ran a few tests and am now ready to go home.

Day 50 – Wednesday, August 27, 2003

I spent the day today concentrating on really going through my document. I realized that some areas needed more detail along with a few images. I also attempted to do my final report, which I had started before and realized I did not like it. I need to now go home and start packing!

Day 51 – Thursday, August 28, 2003

Earlier this morning, I gave a demo and brief overview of this program to a student who is thinking of taking it over this upcoming year. After lunch, I completed my document as best as I could and am now waiting for a reply from Linda. I have the rest of today and tomorrow to work on my final document, my website, and also to continue packing!

Day 52 – Friday, August 29, 2003

Today is my last day here at the University of Washington. I spent most of today working on my final report and cleaning up my stuff. For lunch, I went out with Dr. Linda Shapiro and Jocelyn (my ofice mate) at a nice thai restaurant in downtown Seaattle. I cannot believe that the internship has come to an end so quickly! I had a great time this summer and will miss the experience.
