Image Manager for Anatomy
Changes made to to the Interface:
The Image Manager originally uploaded only a single image at a time and the annotation file also had to be uploaded separately. I worked on the interface to upload a collection of these images at a time along with their annotaion file. The captions however still will have to be entered manually.
I built in the functionality to parse the Text file which would contain the name of the Image file along with the caption. That code is there in the file -- Collection-add-images.pl. It only needs to be integrated with the rest of the program, in case this approach of uploading the captions is used.
What can be improved:
1) There is a problem with the search function. It at times fails with simple queries.
2)An important task is to order the Images in a collection. As of now they just exist as a big bunch under a name. They could be further classified in sub collections and ordered. This would require the Image Manager to talk to the FM and derive the hierarchies from it.
3)A Tooltip capability could be built, so that the name of the Annotated region could be displayed just by moving the mouse over it, and when the user clicks on the Image a new query is made to the database and all the images with that particular region are displayed.
