LASER People Pictures

Here's myself, Heather, and Lori (my mentor) from left to right. We've just finished up a meeting in Lori's office, to discuss where my research is headed.

I gave my final presentation to this group of people, at the LASER meeting. I would have been terrified if I had not had 10 weeks to get to know everyone. They are all very friendly and supportive. Lori Clarke is standing on the far left. Across the bottom are: Yin, Shangzhu, Heather, Isha, George, Rachel, Bert, and Matt. Next to Lori in back are: Jianbin, a new guy, Sokit, Steve, Collin, Nidhruv, Aaron, Ethan, and Joel. (Some of those names are spelled wrong). I know at least one person, Sandy, is part of the LASER group but not included here.

Here are just some of the folks in the cubicles around me. The people not in this picture are just as cool, they just happened to be out when I took this picture. From left: Rachel, Aaron, Heather, Joel, Bert.

Here I am at my work station. I'm using the cubicle of a graduate student named Jamey who has an internship with NASA in CA for the summer. When I first started out, I was frustrated with his ergonomic keyboard and trackball, and amused by the rearview mirror on the monitor. Yet after getting used to it, I realized how much more comfortable his keyboard is than my regular one at home. I still prefer a mouse to a trackball though.
