The DMP stands for the Distributed Mentoring Program and is sponsored by the CRA-W (Computing Research Association Committee on the Status of Women in Computing Research). The program has been around since 1994 (wow, that is when I started high school).

The program is trying to increase the number of women who continue on to for higher degrees in Computer Science. It pairs a student or two with a mentor and allows them to do research under that professor.

I heard about this program from professors at my university and from the Association for Women in Computing at UNL. The whole application process was really nice because it was all online and I didn't have to send anything in.

If you want to know more about the DMP go its website. If you want to know more about the CRA-W and its other programs go to website.
