Most of this week was filled with frustration. I tried to make my database tools to work but apparently I was not successful. I wrote e-mails back and forth to the creator of SQLGrinder, as well as PostgreSQL. However I continue getting Java exception handler errors while connecting. I think problem is with the driver that I installed according to the e-mails, on-line documentation and developer guide. Sadly enough, nobody knows what is wrong. By the end of the week I began looking elsewhere for a solution. Subsequently I installed FileMaker Pro and Developer. It includes built-in networking, web publishing, and ODBC / JDBC support. In mean while I obtained a PGP key.
Friday after work Dr. AntÛn had a cook out for Angela and I. I had great swordfish cabob and Angela had chicken (she does not like seafood...?) Afterwards, the three of us drank Cuban coffee (VERY GOOD), played the piano and talked to the wee hours in the morning. Personally, I am very grateful to Dr. Anton for such conversation. I received answers to my ìhowî, ìwhenî and ìwhyî questions. I was able to found out a lot about graduate life (school and work)-- how to start and where to go after that? The idea of going the graduate school and continue my education looks very appealing to me right now.
