Summer did not start to well for me. A few days before I had to leave for NC I got sick. For those who are interested, I got a chicken poxÖ Yes, at the age of 20 I got chicken pox. This gave me a chance to feel what it means to be a child again; however, it was not as overwhelming an experience may expect. Consequently, I had to reschedule my flight and arrive in Raleigh at June 6, instead of June 2.
The saga was not limited to the chicken pox. On the way to NC, I broke my favorite sunglasses and also endured two flight delay, one of which, I managed to miss. Finally, when I arrive in Raleigh, Angela (my roommate, an other DMP student) picked me up at airport. We finally home at 11:00 p.m. (6 hours late!) and I was able to get some rest. Over the course of the next two days I meet everybody I will work with this Summer, and let me tell you they seem like VERY nice people.
Dr. Anton had sent all the information I was expected to read during the first week via e-mail and I was able to have completed the reading before I showed up in Raleigh. Upon my arrival, I wrote abstracts for all of the papers that I read; here is my annotated bibliography.
